Summit Vista Celebrates Phase 1 Grand Opening

We’re delighted to report that Phase 1 of the Summit Vista Life Communities in Taylorsville, UT, celebrated its grand opening in October 2018. Phase 1, fully pre-sold before opening, includes 114 senior-living apartments and a 62,000 square-foot clubhouse with restaurants, swimming pool, fitness and beauty spas, hobby and meeting rooms.

According to KGRW principal Robert Weaver, the retirement lifestyle reflected in every aspect of the project’s design played a major part in its initial success. “We did some deep thinking about what seniors are looking for during this phase of their lives,” he said. “And the resulting design contributed to a lower than average age of entry and a broader pool from which to attract residents to the community.”

When completed, the 105-acre Summit Vista project will comprise 1,800 independent and assisted living apartments, several clubhouses, skilled nursing, memory care and rehabilitation facilities, all with high-quality services, amenities and recreational opportunities.

KGRW is the architect of record, responsible for master planning, entitlement, programming, architectural and interior design and construction administration. Phase 2 construction is underway, with Phase 3 to follow shortly.

Backed by a cadre of Utah’s most influential real-estate investors, Summit Vista has been warmly welcomed into a community once skeptical of such high-density projects, according to a recent article in The Salt Lake Tribune. In that article, Taylorsville’s newly elected Mayor Kristie Steadman Overson called Summit Vista, “the very best possible fit that we could get in our city.”
