ROBERT D. WEAVER

Robert Weaver is an innovative architect and strategic leader with proven ability to articulate and apply architectural and operational programs to complex building sites. He brings 20 years’ experience managing teams of external and internal consultants in the processes of master planning and architectural design.

In work across the United States, he has developed special expertise defining viable solutions for sites challenged by environmental constraints, such as severe topography, extensive wetlands and jurisdictional and entitlement restrictions. His work exhibits a passion for creating a unique sense of place by integrating building and landscape design in ways that enrich people’s lives and celebrate each site’s natural features.

A founding partner of KGRW & Associates, Mr. Weaver’s responsibilities range from master and strategic planning for civic and senior living ventures to commercial and residential architecture projects. By combining creativity and expertise with exceptional customer service, he ensures that clients maximize the value of both the process and project at each step along the way.

A University of Maryland graduate, Mr. Weaver was formerly Vice President of Master Planning and Architecture at Erickson Retirement Communities, where he was responsible for master planning and building design for senior living communities that encompassed more than 20 million square feet and served more than 20,000 residents. He was responsible for the design quality of the Erickson product.

Erickson projects have won numerous design awards and inspired thousands of customers to move to beautiful environments that consistently receive high ratings for resident satisfaction and quality of life. At Erickson, Mr. Weaver was a valued consultant to marketing, sales and operations executive teams, adept at balancing the owner’s financial and programmatic requirements with changing market dynamics. He provided leadership for cross-functional teams responsible for adapting all elements of the product to lower cost per unit, which enabled expansion into new markets. Redesign of the apartment homes, led by Mr. Weaver, helped drive sales that consistently exceeded industry benchmarks.

Mr. Weaver is a registered architect, AIA and NCARB member, and LEED-accredited professional. He has been involved with planning and zoning initiatives for Howard County, Maryland, including the senior housing task force and design advisory panel. He also helped develop targeted legislation to improve qualitative language on compatibility requirements for infill development.
