Howard County 20-Year Master Plan for Aging
Howard County government, known for its proactive stance on social issues, decided to study the challenges inherent in a population of residents over age 65 that will essentially double over the next 20 years. They called upon KGRW to assemble and lead a team to study the issue, engage the community in discussion, and propose programs, services and facilities that will make the county an attractive community in which to age in place. The project included a review of existing Office on Aging facilities and programs, development of scenarios reflecting various potential futures as a basis for decision-making, a survey of Howard County residents, a set of priorities for creating a “preferred future” and a comprehensive facilities plan.
